Accidents can happen in many different ways in the workplace. However injuries caused through slip and falls account for probably the majority of the incidents that we as a law firm actually deal with.
According to official HSE sources every 25 minutes someone breaks or fractures a bone at work, this is a pretty astonishing statistic and one that warrants informed action.
The HSE have reacted to the statistics by campaigning for better education for employers and employees on the risks posed by the various working environments in the UK.
The Shattered Lives Campaign was launched today with a blaze of publicity by the HSE.
Last year 45 workers died following a falls from height and 3750 were seriously injured. Reducing this unnecessary injury toll is a priority and Shattered Lives is our latest campaign. Find out what happens when workers are put at risk and what you can do to stop falls from height in your workplace.
Employers must do more to avoid slipping accidents and falls from height. The HSE campaign will go some way to help the situation provided the message is heard and understood by industry.
Many injured victims do not receive full pay when they are absent from work. SSP which is limited to under £80 per week will not be enough for many. Lost earnings can be recovered in full if a claim is successful. Please call or email AA Claims for personal advice regarding any accident you suffer at work.
